Enlightenment II

Denis Diderot- What was the Encycopedia and why did it create controversy? Did he have any influence during the Enlightenment? (Also, finish your two questions on the Rousseau article.)

  1. The Encyclopedia was a history of what was known at the time, published by Denis Diderot, so that history could not be altered, as it had been recently.
    It created a controversy because the Christian church thought that it would create doubt and fear from those who read it and it would make people question them.
    He influenced the enlightenment by making people think and doubt the church and king and made people believe that maybe there was something besides the bible out there that they could believe in.

  2. ok so when i was in south carolina over vacation, i stopped at a walmart to get a souvenire t-shirt.After i pulled into the spot i saw a dog tied to a tree eating. So i got out of the car and went over to pet it, the dog lunged and bit me on the leg. so i punched the dog to get it off me, and it eventually let go. then the ambulance had to come cause i could of had rabies, and the sheriff had to come and animal control had to take the dog away and quarantine it for 1o days. And that is why you never pet wild dogs, and never take candy from strangers.
